Launching Contests on Common
Today, we are launching Contests on Common. This feature will enable communities to increase engagement and boost transactions for their coins. Any ERC20 token on Base can fund these contests and vote on entries. All of this happens within the forum of Common, where discussions and chats about your community continue alongside.

Crypto feels like magic when you can mint a coin in your group chat, and then immediately use it to speed up projects, have fun, or just buy things. Contests enables you to do 2 of those 3. You can host contests as bounties for completing a set of tasks or a unit of work. You can also use it to generate content and just have fun hosting a meme contest in your community. Most importantly, On Common, trading and spending memecoins does not have to be the identity of your whole community, just one part of it.
How do Contests work?
- Admins create contests funded by community stake fees or direct deposits
- Members submit contest entries as individual threads under contest discussion topic
- The thread with the most upvotes, as selected by your community, after the duration of the contest wins the prize!
Contests don’t have to be one-offs. You can keep ideas flowing and set the contest to automatically run weekly. For example, rewarding a new winner every week for the best meme or grant proposal.
